A downloadable game

It was meant to be a simple affair. A soiree of distinguished and fanciful guests all gathered together at the strange and labyrinthine manor of D. Boddie. Expecting a night of simple pleasures sheltered from the harsh wintery landscape, Boddie was excited to be surrounded by their notable friends. And just as desserts were being served- CRASH, GASP

The lights go out. 

When they return, Boddie is found dead in the [...], with [...] hovering over the corpse, and the [...] in their hands. 

As the winter storm rages outside the manor, the guests are now trapped with a simple truth, "There is a murderer among them." The guests must take it upon themselves to piece together the story of what happened through a series of scenes and get their stories straight before the storm settles. But everyone has a secret, and some will do everything in their power to keep it hidden.

I line with the GAMERella 2025 theme, Lights Out takes the theme in stride by both creating an analog TTRPG deduction game by iterating on a game that I loved as a child: Clue.

The "Recall" Mechanic

The focus is to develop  the "Recall" mechanic to be implemented in a larger scale TTRPG form of Lights Out. Over a series of three acts. Players must Pitch and Alter Scenes to be placed in an Evidence Lockera 3x3 grid which houses 3 Suspects, 3 Locations, and 3 Items. The Clues in the Evidence Locker will be used to make final guessed in during the Accusation Phase at the end of the Act.
